Letter to Next year Photo students

The most memorable moments of my photography journey were definitely the portraits. It was so exciting to try and find someone that would love to see the eye color change. My thing was to take close up eye pictures and those that had brown eyes, I would change their eye color. It was pretty cool being able to do that. The first close up person did have colored eyes, so I didn’t have to do much editing, but those that didn’t it was nice to see the before and after’s. The best part of it all was learning how to use Photoshop and Lightroom. I came to find out I like using Photoshop more than Lightroom. The class might seem a little boring at the beginning learning all the camera settings and everything, but in the long run it is very enjoyable. This is a really easy class to pass, just keep up with your assignments, and if you turn one in late DONT forget to email it to Mrs. C, she will still take it because she wants us all to pass. I do recommend doing all one day shooting and then the other days you get to spend the time editing, and not edit in a rush. I also have a HUGE recommendation; do not take pictures with someone else, what I mean by that is don’t walk out of class to take pictures with someone else because personally from experience, people have stolen my picture and theirs makes it on the blog, so it makes you feel some type of way because it was your idea to take the picture a certain way and they take it. Overall, I really did enjoy this class, and I will do it again. It got me to take pictures outside of school as well, I’ve always had a camera but didn’t know fully how to fix the settings till I came to this class. It now finalized my decision on wanting to be a sports photographer.
